PU BUMPER PLATES – Polyurethane, black colored

Bumper Plates line made with polyurethane (PU) coated, black colored with white details and available in the following weights: 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 Kg. Polyurethane is the best material to produce plates, as it offers outstanding resistance, extraordinary compactness, reduced rebound, no smell, no scratches or imperfections, perfect coupling with the steel plate. PU plates are the best possible solution in terms of reliability, aesthetics, and general quality. Thanks to the high density of the material, Polyurethane plates are thinner than other standard plates, made of rubber (such as codes 9040/1-9044/1). This feature allows the loading of a barbell with over 350 kg, as if it were a metal plate, but with the benefit of softer support.

As you can see from the picture down below, in the same loading space available (we took as an example the 9015/8 barbell) using the classic Rubber Bumpers which have a thickness of approximately 93.5mm, it’s possible to load 4 Discs of 25Kg each, reaching a total weight including the barbell, of 220Kg. Using instead the PU Bumper plates which are less thick (about 51mm), it’s possible to load 7 for each side, reaching a total weight of 370Kg!

Esempio Spazio Bumper - ING — Looking from this perspective, tipical of the Powerlifting, the PU Bumpers can be considered even better than the thinner metal discs: the **PolyUrethane** cover will be less aggressive on the Lifting Flooring, wearing it a lot less than the metal discs, making it more versatile and adapt to other uses in the Weight Lifting spaces.

PU Bumper Plates are also available in the color-coded version code 9040/3-9046/3, following the IWF standards.

Bumper Plate Guide

Bumper discs are made to limit the consequences of the loaded barbell hitting, or falling to the ground. Some weightlifting specialities involve lifts in which the fall of the loaded barbell is an integral part of the exercise. For this reason, bumper discs are completely made of rubber with metal inserts (plates or rings) to protect the central area where the barbell insertion hole is located.

From a constructional point of view, the main nominal dimensions: outer diameter of the disc 450 mm, hole 50 mm, are defined by the standard indicated by the IWF (International Weightlifting Federation).The spread of weight training in athletic training and functional fitness has led to the production of different lines and models:

9040/1-9046/1 Black Rubber Bumper Plate - Rubber Bumper Plates

9040/1-9044/1 Black Rubber Bumper Plate

Composed of sizes 5, 10, 15, 20 kg, exclusively in black. This line is made entirely of rubber (with a central steel ring) and was created with the aim of obtaining the best quality/price ratio. Being more elastic than polyurethane, rubber guarantees a good level of shock absorption, but at the same time it is a material that is more subject to wear in the long term, particularly in the case of intensive use.

9040/3-9046/3 PU Bumper Plate - Color

Composed of sizes 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 kg, colours according to the IWF standard and white details. Being made of polyurethane, this line of bumpers is high performance and allows for high standards of strength. It is advisable to combine these bumper discs with high performance and tensile strength values, as the greater rigidity of polyurethane compared to rubber ensures greater durability, but also a higher degree of vibration and shock transmission.

9040/4-9046/4 PU Bumper Plate - Black

Composed of sizes 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 kg, entirely coloured black with white details. Being made of polyurethane, this line of bumpers is high performance and allows for high standards of strength. 9042/5-9046/5 Competition Rubber Bumper Plate

Series consisting of sizes 10, 15, 20 and 25 kg, with colours according to the IWF standard. Despite being made of the same rubber as the Pro-Training series, the large central metal plate and the construction techniques adopted give this series the highest quality standards for competition discs, both in terms of performance and durability.

9036/6-9046/6 Powerlifting Plates

Aesthetically beautiful, calibrated, thin, extremely resistant, coloured according to international standards, complete in the sizes; 0.25, 0.5, 1.25, 2.5, 5; 10; 15; 20; 25 kg, these single-sided steel discs make up a special line dedicated to Powerlifting and characterised by precise technical and qualitative choices, of a superior level.
