The Kit includes a total of 100 kg of Black Rubber Bumper Plates, divided into two 5 kg plates (code 9040/1), two 10 kg plates (code 9042/1), two 15 kg plates (code 9043/1), and two 20 kg plates (code 9044/1).
The Black Rubber Bumper Plates are fully rubber weight plates, designed for weightlifting, powerlifting, and cross training, and thus made to withstand barbell drops to the ground (hence the name “bumper”). To ensure evenly distributed support as well as a consistent bar height from the floor, all Bumper Plates are manufactured with the same external diameter, conventionally set at 45 cm according to various federation regulations. Due to its mechanical properties, synthetic rubber is the most suitable material for producing this type of plate.
The high-quality rubber—virtually odorless, with an excellent elastic coefficient and good mechanical resistance—ensures outstanding durability, even with the inclusion of a steel ring.
The steel ring, which protects the center hole, is in fact the most economical and commonly used construction solution, though it tends to wear the central part of the plate more quickly. This is a minor drawback, as the Black Rubber Bumper Plates successfully pass durability tests exceeding 20,000 drops.
